Nicktoons should've had the NickSplat/NickRewind block instead of TeenNick

I was born shortly after Rocko ended but as a teen I got into the show watching the Nicksplat block and I fell in love with it. Then I saw “I Have No Son” and developed a crush on Ralph Bighead. He looks quite handsome for a toad and the way Joe voiced him made fell for him 😍😁

now this DOES make sense because TeenNick used to have that '90s Are All That/The Splat/NickSplat/NickRewind programming block

TeenNick makes sense for NickSplat programming because... it's a Nick network. TNT or TBS suddenly airing Dexter's Lab or Grim or whatever makes no sense.

At least compared to Checkered Past, The 90s are All That (The Splat, NickSplat, NickRewind) had a longer life span of 11 years whereas Checkered Past had a life span of only almost two years, two, that’s less than Cartoonito which had a 4 year life span.

I loved the block but it had the same problem as NickSplat had where they'd air the five most popular shows, promise to show others but then fall back on what they said.

NickRewind ended 3 years ago today Originally premiering on TeenNick as "The 90's Are All That" in 2011, the block would showcase nostalgic Nickelodeon series from the 90's and eventually Early 2000's, rebranding multiple times into The Splat, and NickSplat, before rebranding one final time into NickRewind, before having the block end. Remember watching it well. Definitely something I miss, and wish Nickelodeon would acknowledge their past more, but even this got regulated to a satellite channel and not the main one, and it's a shame.

Here's a fact that not many people know about: when NickSplat became NickRewind in 2019, the block stopped airing seasons 3 and 4 of Doug, meaning they only had half of the show's Nickelodeon run in their rerun rotation for it.

Why would NickSplat source the soap footage and not Lucky Duck Productions? 😕

TeenNick possibly airing The Fairly OddParents for the first time ever outside of live-action movies and Odder is wild when you think about it: it never aired on NickSplat/Rewind because it was still producing new episodes. And yet the block aired the first SB movie in 2017

NickRewind - too safe NickSplat - mostly safe with some surprises The Splat - a lot of curation and surprises I just can't expect the latter out of a WBD cable network in 2024 (that isn't TCM). it's still hard to believe we got that out of Viacom in 2016.

tbh it exceeded my expectations so far with the fact they actually bothered to air weasel and carne so eh I'm fine with how it currently is. I was expecting a NickRewind and wound up getting a NickSplat when I feel like everyone was truly wanting a The Splat
