Founders and developers think differently. Each must be aware of and respect the other's strengths and weaknesses. Without mutual respect, the project may be doomed. I explore best practices in my new book, No-Code Project Management. It’s finally here! After months of work, I’m excited to announce my book, "NoCode Project Management", is officially out. This book comes from years of experience, hard lessons, and incredible projects with founders and development teams. If you’ve ever been stuck trying to turn a vision into a finished product or found yourself lost in the chaos of timelines, budgets, and communication...this is for you. Inside, I share everything I’ve learned about building no-code apps successfully: - How to create clarity from day one - Managing scope creep and unexpected changes - Estimating time and costs with confidence - Why the way people interact and communicate can make or break your project It’s not just about tools or processes—it’s about people, relationships, and the mindset to get projects across the finish line. Whether you’re a founder with big ideas or a developer navigating complex builds, this book will help you avoid the common pitfalls of no-code development and set you up for success. I’m incredibly proud of this, and I hope it makes your no-code journey smoother and more rewarding. Grab your copy today and let me know what you think! Founders and developers often come from two entirely different perspectives. Founders operate from a 40,000-foot view, seeing the big picture, the forest for the trees, and boundless possibilities. Developers work down on the forest floor, navigating the intricate details, processes, and code that bring ideas to life. Blending these two perspectives isn't always easy. Even attempting a “mind meld” with someone who thinks similarly can be challenging, and absorbing nuances from the other perspective takes time. In my experience, it often takes multiple meetings or brainstorming sessions to align the founder's vision with the developer's solutions. But when it happens, it’s powerful. That “mind meld” creates the synergy that drives successful app builds. I discuss the founder/developer relationship extensively in NoCode Project Management...it's arguably the largest theme in the book. Construction companies have business relationships that span generations. We’re only a few years into this remote work setup. Can you imagine saying “I’ve been doing business with so and so for 30 years!” (But never met face to face). Will it last? Will it span generations? #remotework #freelancing #softwaredevelopment #nocode #projectmanagement #nocodeprojectmanagement #bldrsos

I’ve worked on both fixed price and hourly jobs, and here’s my take: fixed price might seem appealing to founders, but it often corners the dev team. When the unexpected happens (and it usually does), devs have to absorb the cost, leading to frustration on both sides. Hourly projects, on the other hand, create transparency. Breaking tasks into clear, trackable sections fits perfectly with agile sprints. Everyone knows where time is going, and the pressure to finish at any cost disappears. In my experience, that’s how you maintain a healthy working relationship.
