I wish I could say I'm surprised, but I'm not.
Our local 911 received a call about 2 dogs "fornicating," (the officer's wording) and "somebody needs to stop them because there's little children in the neighborhood and they shouldn't see this." #NotFor911.

Unfortunately, calls that are #NotFor911 are received by our dispatchers regularly. One of our dispatchers just received a 9-1-1 call from someone that needed to use the bathroom at a business, but wasnβt able to due to it being closed. #NPSTW2022 #PRP911Dispatchers #911Awareness

Calling 9-1-1 because you need to use the bathroom and the car ahead isn't moving fast enough, is definitely #NotFor911.

Really getting sick of living in a world filled with such ignorance. There's nothing common about sense. Misuse of 9-1-1 calls should come with fines/consequences.

A restaurant getting your order wrong is NOT an emergency.
A better way to deal with it would be to speak to the manager or call head office.
P.S. Tomatoes don't belong on ANY sandwich.

If you are experiencing a natural gas or petroleum leak, that's a good reason to call 9-1-1.
If it's a "personal" gas leak, that's not a reason to call 9-1-1. Just open a window.

While we understand that a water leak from your refrigerator is concerning and annoying, it's definitely not a call for 9-1-1 and no we won't come and clean it up. Instead, shut off the water and call a plumber. #NotFor911
