On Sunday, December 14th, members of the Hawkesbury OPP, along with OPP Auxiliary officers and mascot Rosie, were honoured to attend a welcoming event at the Hawkesbury Islamic Cultural Center. This gathering was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen relationships, celebrate diversity and engage in meaningful conversations with community members. #NorthBayOPP Auxiliary Officer Cecchini met up with Kevin Oschefski and his team last week just west of Sturgeon Falls on Highway 11 during Kevin’s Walk for the Cure. After a short break in town, Aux Cecchini provided a police escort for over an hour and a half, helping Kevin safely navigate through Sturgeon Falls and onto the highway toward North Bay. Kevin’s walk from Sudbury to North Bay raised awareness and funds in support of breast cancer research. We were proud to help make his journey a little safer. #WalkForTheCure #OPPCommunity ^kb

We were touched to receive this heartfelt message from Julie, who shared her granddaughter Amélia’s colourful take on an OPP cruiser from a page in the OPP Fun Book, which she received at the Family 50-Fest hosted by Five Counties Children’ Centre in Peterborough on Saturday, September 27th. Amélia, age 3, had a blast at the event and wanted to mail her artwork to the “very caring tall constable” from the #PeterboroughOPP Detachment who greeted her so warmly; however, with the postal strike in effect, a photo did the trick, and we’re so glad it did!
