I can tell you lots of basic training and then the process of going into Advanced Individual Training unless you have BCT/AIT as one go in OSUT one station unit training. But Jackson is known as the weakest of all training sites. Relaxing Jackson so coined. I’ve got a brother who is a Drill SGT. I’ll put a good word or two in for this Recruit from Canton. He is not a Soldier has not earned the title or the qualification to be called one. He is a Private. FNG. And as he gets training in his BCT he will have to gain the following knowledge and represent these core values. Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity & Personal Courage. None of those Values has this boy ever demonstrated in any way shape or form in any media I’ve seen of him interacting with anyone. He best be studying cause he’s about to get wall to wall counseling if he thinks he can get by on his own bullshit.

I reported for infantry OSUT and then airborne school at 17. By 18 I was in a guard tower on the East German border. It was indeed a different time.

When I graduated OSUT many moons ago, we didn't even consider ourselves human--we were Infantrymen. Glad I got to get my blood rifles on Honor Hill before they burned it all down. 🤦‍♂️

Many moons ago 19D and 19K trained together at Ft Knox. OSUT if I remember right. Then I heard 19K training was moved. Did 19D stay or did they move as well?

During the MP School portion of OSUT we were on a Humvee familiarization drive. My team was vehicle #2 and our platoon's DS was in the lead. We're cruising along on Alabama red clay roads when we come to a stop. We see what looked to be some kind of helmet in the road and DS got out. He picked it up and we saw head and legs pop out, realizing it's a big turtle. He got it to safety and it ran off into the bushes. He approached our vehicle and uttered words I've never forgotten: "No matter what we teach you here about being warriors and killers...always remember to have regard for innocent life." 💪🏼 🐢 🪖
