Well I have been part of oddkey and MTD and they had full tokenized assets with someone even bigger then Jim Lee and Todd himself would talk to us often. Oddkey is gone. MTD is barely hanging on. Just saying blind faith is not going to cut it this round for me.

I look at the Todd Mcfarlane sites of MTD and oddkey. Some of the rarest things on chain by the toddfather and no demand. We had our keys from day one.

And another one bites the dust 🙁 If I would have to place OddKey in a category it would be a niche platform within a niche market (officially licensed NFTs) within an already niche hobby (digital collecting). I’m a bit worried about McFarlane Digital, Digitoys but also Candy Digital because I’m convinced that it won’t be NFT investors/speculators who will guarantee these platforms to strive but genuine collectors.

OddKey, the NFT platform hosting Todd McFarlane collectibles on Solana, has officially closed. This follows Funko NFTs decision to shutdown. On the bright side, Candy Digital and VeVe are thriving 🙌

The conversation around “The Future of Digital Collecting” deserves wider attention. Without spoiling anything, here’s my personal take on the speakers and their platforms: •S. Walsh (McFarlane Toys Digital): Strong focus on physical collectibles paired with digital twins. A solid fit for North America - less so globally. That said, I noticed digital-only drops are making a comeback. •S. Biron (Candy): All about DC Comics. No mention of Futureverse or Bat Cowls. •D. Steinberger (DSTLRY / Neon Ichiban): Digital comics with same-day-as-print releases from major publishers. Feels a bit out of place here, since there’s no blockchain component. •D. Yu (VeVe): No comment 😋 •R. Abuja Kahn (Dapper Labs): NBA, NFL, and a big push for Disney Pinnacle. •S. Starobinsky (Pudgy Penguins): The only panelist fully web3-native, building with his own IP. •A. Knowles (Fanable): Bring your graded collectible (or buy one on the platform) - they’ll create an NFT for it. You collect and trade real items, which they can securely store for you. •J. McFarlane (OddKey): A must for any Todd McFarlane fan. •N. Denning & T. Sheridan (Funko Droppp): If you’re into Funko, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy their digital offerings too. Who was missing? I’d say Cryptoys. Judging by their radio silence on socials, one might assume the platform is… gone? 😕 As Shane nicely put it: “We’re all in this new growing space together.” Let’s stop the tribalism. We’re still a niche within the collectibles industry - stronger together.

Oddkey goes so under the radar it's insane. Literally the only Sol project I can while heartedly endorse knowing what the team and @Todd_McFarlane have been building since 2021. Legends frfr. Glad to see them getting their time to shine at SDCC.
