I’ll be thinking of the papers, the questions, the answers, the striving, the students, the teachers, the volunteers, the organizers, for a long time to come. Grateful to every person who came up to chat, & hoping the world widens to admit more opportunities for us to do so.

35 handwritten pages of notes, 17 typed pages from writing workshops, presenting my own paper at a panel, and much exhaustion later, #OnceFuture conference has come to an end. Thanks to my first in-person conference for setting the bar so high! I had a fantastic time in Glasgow!

Right now, my main take away from @OnceFantasies is that, having gone to my 1st in person conference since the dawn of Plague Times, I need to reopen the evil scientist lab in the basement to get back to working on cloning myself so I can attend All The Sessions. #OnceFuture

#OnceFuture is over, and I am about to lie down and sleep for five years. So grateful to all the fabulous conversations, papers, workshops, and questions - especially to see all the varied paths attendees have taken through fantasy scholarship, both academic & artistic.

#OnceFuture is over and what an experience it's been. Amazing keynotes and papers, wonderful community of people, the last five days have just been absolutely brilliant.
Now I'm off to sleep* for a year....

All conferences henceforth must up their game. If they don't end with a performance of delightfully random song choices, they are seriously lacking. Well done @OnceFantasies organisers for such an epic conclusion to the whole affair. #OnceFuture

Now the fantasy people at #oncefuture have an excuse. They don’t know any better and are HAPPY to spread the virus (hi!) around. But the virologists at #asv2022? They know me well and they’re STILL spreading me about over meals and drinks and presentations. THAT’S special. 🦠 ❤️
