🚨BREAKING: New Miami Herald report reveals George W. Bush’s DOJ played a key role in assisting Jeffrey Epstein’s 2007 plea negotiations that produced his notorious sweetheart deal.
The investigation, led by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Julie K. Brown, highlights how then-U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta (a Bush appointee) began secret negotiations with Epstein’s high-powered legal team. Former Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter described feeling that federal officials were working more for Epstein than for the dozens of underage victims identified in the case.
The deal allowed Epstein to plead guilty to minor state charges, avoid federal prosecution, and receive work-release privileges — despite evidence involving numerous minor victims. Acosta reportedly cited “guidance from Main Justice” (DOJ headquarters in Washington) during the process.
This adds another layer to the long-running questions surrounding Epstein’s lenient treatment under multiple administrations.
