Hello, I hope you're doing well. I been busy and haven't had a chance to work on GOXMR for a bit, just recently got back to add a lot of stuff (OpenAlias included). Stay tuned, a few things are coming!

For just shortening your XMR address, OpenAlias is easier/simpler. You can just set it on your own website as well. IDK why goxmr isn't using OpenAlias as well @SlowBearDigger? openalias.org/

it's very unclear how to use openalias. The website is a wall of text that contains everything but how to use it honestly

For those asking how to fund the protocol instead of trading memecoins, the official XMR dev fund address for the XMR402 infrastructure is: donate.xmr402.org (OpenAlias)

Add an OpenAlias or Unstoppable domain to your location field, and Cake Wallet will check that for addresses.

@bluewalletio Any plans to support OpenAlias? This would allow sending Silent Payments to easy-to-remember addresses like _bitcoin.pay@yourdomain.com.

I mean, yes I would like avoiding DNS. Definitely going to dig into Zooko's approach as I'd never heard of it. The more onerous issue here is that BIP 353 essentially duplicated OpenAlias v2 w/ the addition of DNSSEC verification, unnecessarily making a Bitcoin-specific version 😅

You could already do that in @cakewallet. You can even use X names, nostr, openalias, bio353, and much more.

Why did @exodus recommend @cakewallet to its users for Monero and not other wallets? Well, no other wallet can claim all of the following for #monero: - First open source wallet on iOS in 2018 (well now available on Android and desktop platforms as well.) - Your view key doesn't leave your device. The scanning is done on your device. Other wallets sending your view key and claiming they are private ARE NOT PRIVATE! - Legacy/polyseed with PASSPHRASE support for both create and restore wallets. - no email address or ANYTHING collected to use @cakewallet or @MoneroCom - BIP39 for Monero (that's right!) - Connect to your own node or any node of your choice! - Coin control - Multiple Monero wallets - Multi-account support within each wallet - Subaddresses (with autogeneration so you always have a new one) - Passphrase for Monero Wallets - Background sync on all wallets (Android-only, for now.) - Ledger Hardware Wallet via USB AND Bluetooth! - Cupcake Support for Monero (companion air-gapped app made by us, that acts like a hardware wallet) - OpenAlias, .xmr UD, FIO, and Birpay for X, Nostr, Mastodon address resolving. - Tor support via Orbot/InviZible Pro - View-only wallets - Addressbook

With Exodus wallet users migrating to @cakewallet , someone on Reddit said "there are so many Monero wallets, so what's so special about yours?" Well Let me tell you no other wallet does all this for Monero: -First open source wallet on iOS in 2018 (well now available on Android and desktop platforms as well.) -Your view key doesn't leave your device. The scanning is done on your device. -Legacy/polyseed with PASSPHRASE support for both create and restore wallets. -Coin control - Multi-account support within each wallet - Subaddresses (with autogeneration so you always have a new one) -Background sync on all wallets (Android-only, for now.) -Multiple Monero wallets -Ledger Hardware Wallet via USB AND Bluetooth! -Cupcake Support for Monero (companion app made by us, that acts like a hardware wallet) -OpenAlias, .xmr UD, FIO, and Birpay for X -Tor support via Orbot/InviZible Pro -View-only wallets - Connect to your own node or any node of your choice! - Addressbook
