Week 2 of #OpenScienceOctober This week visualized the association between word reading and arithmetic using quantile correlations, finding these to have seemingly stronger associations at the low end of the distribution compared to the high end.

Ever wonder what percentile parents think their children are in reading & math?
Seems most parents think their child is above average.
What do make of these findings on parents' perceptions of their children's academic abilities?

ALT a density graph. Title: "what percentile do you think your child is in reading & math?" . the graph shows very low numbers below the 50th percentile, and pretty even in math from the 50th-90th percentile. reading is highest around the 85th percentile.
