👁️📚 Clinical Eye Case: Uveitis & Oral Ulcers
This past week at My Eye Consultants, we saw a 17-year-old with severe anterior uveitis and recurrent oral ulcers, raising suspicion for Behçet’s disease—a chronic multisystem inflammatory disorder. Ocular involvement can occur in up to 70% of patients, often leading to vision loss if untreated. Diagnosis is clinical and requires systemic work-up. Teaching Pearl: When young patients present with uveitis and recurrent oral ulcers, always consider Behçet’s disease to ensure timely treatment and preserve vision.
