I led numerous successful efforts to kill tax hikes on the ballot and in the House and Senate. Whereas Patti voted for tax hikes and is endorsed by insiders who also support tax hikes. We cannot send a tax hiker to D.C. I signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge and will fight against endless tax hikes. According to World Population Review, Deschutes County currently has the fifth-highest median property taxes among all 36 counties in Oregon. And Ownwell says, based on a median home value of $648,885, the annual Deschutes County property tax bill in 2026 is $3,985. That compares to the national median property tax bill of $2,400. In other words, Deschutes County’s median property tax bill is 66 percent higher than the national median property tax bill. In fiscal year 2019-2020, Deschutes County ranked 6th of Oregon’s 36 counties in terms of total property taxes imposed. That same year, the Deschutes County Commission adopted a total budget, including service districts, of $502,642,110, with an operating budget of $227,788,787. The county’s total adopted budget, including service districts, for fiscal year 2025-2026 was $766.4 million, with an operating budget of $430.7 million. This represented increases of 52.5 percent for the total budget and 89.1 percent for the operating budget over the period in which Adair has sat on the Deschutes County Commission. newslinelocal.com/p/under-ad…

Ownwell isn't about insurance - they help lower your property taxes without you having to deal with the pain and you only pay based on success. It has lowered my property tax multiple times across King county using their automated system. It is the least amount of effort for the most amount of tax savings.

I decided to investigate Ownwell, the property tax "experts." They ask you to upload your evidence for protesting your property valuation, which is the most time consuming aspect of the protest process.

I'm a customer. I use them to file my property tax protests. One of the steps is they ensure i have proper exemptions submitted & approved. There are lots of options out there besides Ownwell. If person is having trouble getting approved for exemptions, why not hire expert?

I’ve been using Ownwell after it was recommended by a neighbor several years back. They take 25%, roughly. But I have never had a single year rejected by using them.

You can, actually. Third party companies specialize in this, like OwnWell. You don't even have to call. You just fill out a form and they do it for you. I used them once with success. Other home owners I know use them as well. Stop talkiing about things you have no experience with.

Always, always protest the assessed value. Sign up a professional like Ownwell to be your agent. They always get $1000s knocked off the assessment value and charge a percentage of what you save on property taxes. There are several firms that do both homestead & commercial properties.

Ownwell is nice. They also act as your agent and file for you, vs with this it sounds like you have to send in your own protest.

#ugcexample from a bundle that I created for Ownwell. They help homeowners fight back against overpaying on property taxes...so the goal was to make it feel relatable and easy to understand. Simple messaging. Clean execution. Content that actually connects. 📩 If your brand needs UGC that converts, let's talk. 📧 workwithheatherscott@gmail.com 💼 heatherscottugc.com

I'm saying this as someone that isn't sponsored. I clowned all the local sports radio guys for spamming us about Ownwell property tax disputes. But last year I finally tried it and we saved like $8k. Not even kidding. Our mortgage payment went down for the fist time in years.

Texas homeowners who didn't protest their property taxes in 2025 left $1.2 billion in potential savings on the table, according to a new Ownwell study. Only 32% of residential properties across 17 counties filed a protest. Over three years, the missed savings totaled $3.3 billion. Nationally, 8 in 10 homeowners have never appealed their property tax bill, and 53% don't even know they have the right to do so.
