Awesome project. And did you know that #POSHTUI is powered by geneva_drive under the hood? Every gem docset passes through a workflow.
Docset build server for #POSHTUI is complete! It now monitors more than 1500 gems, builds docsets for them and publishes to a private CDN. I actually though that it would take me at least 6 month of part time work to get here. But I'm done in 3 months of part time work.

It was a pleasure to chat with you as well! PoshTUI is an amazing tool. It discovered many problems in the Ruby ecosystem like RDoc->Markdown conversion!
Had a cool chat with @Vitalliumm today! He maintains zed ruby extension, but approaches this as a proper product. He is not just hacking away, but does all the marketing and education of the target audience. The only thing missing, is the revenue part :)

You know what works super well with #Neovim and #Lazygit? #POSHTUI Because you can browse the documentation for installed gems in your folder while still remaining in the terminal. And for example, in case of #Rails (and probably for many other gems), there are a lot of great examples in documentation from the source code.
A proper website for a project makes a huge difference— lifetime licenses are selling out like hotcakes. Only 3 left!

Just generated and uploaded markdown documentation for 60 essential gems in the ruby and rails ecosystem with one command! #POSHTUI is so close to having a very public beta release :)

#POSHTUI update: poshtui.com website is currently being rebuilt in preparation for a public release. This is done in collaboration with a friend. Don't want to spoil the fun, but I explored brutalist web design in a couple of unpublished side-projects. My friend helped me nail the function-over-form aesthetics I was looking for.

Pushed a #POSHTUI update on a weekend. poshtui.com/v08-gemfile-brow… My next plan is to fix two bugs in yard-markdown and start publishing more markdown docsets.

#POSHTUI Gemfile parser & Docset picker is nearly finished. This should be my last big feature for a TUI client. There is a lot of work on fixing docset generation for gems. Can't wait to start presenting this to a wider audience!

Released 0.7.2 version of POSHTUI - where I switch to sqlite driver that doesn't require a CGO. Now let's add rails docsets integration!

Fully rewritten docsets downloader for #POSHTUI. - It's crazy fast! - Downloads only docs for libraries used in a project (or doesn't, if documentation is already on a machine) - Updates docs, if there are any improvements. - Builds a local index of all docs in SQLite. Soon this will be released in the next version of posh tui ;-) See for more details: skatkov.gumroad.com/l/pxbxx

I'm back to hacking on side-projects. Priorities for poshtui project: - cache docsets (to minimize CDN costs) - add rails docsets - ability to switch docsets I'm soooo close...!

A bugfix release was out on weekends for #POSHTUI. poshtui.com/poshtui-063 Currently, work ongoing to integrate gems (only rails now) into the pipeline and application. Hard to promise any deadline, but so far, progress is happening quite fast!

10 sales for #POSHTUI, a product that still hasn't reached a stable release. I guess, it has officially passed validation and I can finally build it? (hehe, I'll build it anyway, I need it to exist)

Wrapping up new release for #POSHTUI this week. - yard-markdown gem is fully integrated - I can build all docsets (just 4 now) with one command now - better docsets index storage, that would allow client to work with multiple docsets effectively.

Not going to summarize my year, it was tough. But my plans for next year: - Get my wife pregnant with a second child - Move big chunk of my savings to ETF's - Do more sports (wakeboard is not a year-long sport). Probably Kick/Thai-boxing or snowboarding. - Focus on #POSHTUI as much as possible - Attend more conferences, maybe even give a talk on caching with relative databases. - Rebuild Personal CRM with rails sqlite (current approach of "sqlite bunch of scripts" is not easy to manage). - Do LASIK correction on my eyes - Continue with my ongoing process to find my inner-peace

As a ruby developer, which gem documentation do you read more often than the rest? (besides rails) Need to know which docsets should I integrate with #POSHTUI first.

v0.6 of POSH TUI is out. To update it run in console: brew update && brew upgrade poshtui Most of the updates in this release are related to docsets. So be sure to run in console: posh docsets Software is not feature complete yet, but it's slowly getting there.

After going through ruby conferences, there is clear sign that documentation browser that I'm building (#POSHTUI) is a niche tool. Not many ruby devs have a need for it. With one part of my mind, I know that it's unlikely to become a financial success. But another part wants this tool to exist, and there are other people who paid for it before it was even usable. This week, I had to throw away all doubts and focus on getting back into it.
