As part of this investigation, deputies confirmed that firearms were used during the commission of the crime. While ammunition was recovered from one of the vehicles involved, no firearms were located. Investigators believe one or more firearms may have been discarded from vehicles at some point during or after the incident. Our law enforcement partners have been notified and are actively assisting in efforts to locate any discarded weapons.
Out of an abundance of caution, we ask members of the public to remain vigilant. If anyone locates a firearm or any item they believe may be related to this investigation, they should not touch, move, or handle it. Instead, immediately leave the item where it is and call 911 so law enforcement can respond and safely recover it. Protecting the safety of our community remains our highest priority, and we appreciate the public's cooperation as this investigation continues.
