As usual, too…it’s let’s to a very small a,pint of non-Jews to run counter to all the anti-Semitic ones.
I’m reminded of seeing the sign at Yad Vashem seeing the pitifully-small number of verified individual righteous among the nations.
Out of all the millions of non-Jews.
Eighty years ago there were barely thousands out of all the millions who at all redeemed the honor of mankind.
Let’s hope and pray the numbers have picked up since the Shoah.
I’m gob-smacked by how many people I know are naively repeating the anti-Israel propaganda.
But I keep telling them…I cannot at all stomach that propaganda.
And for one big reason.
Unlike them I have direct experience with a Hamas jerk from my 1991-92 trip to Israel (and feel free to check up on that).
The jerk I had problems with in the packpacker hostel industry at the time caused much disruption to that industry.
It is hard to explain him to Aussie friends.
It was only once Fauda came on tv it became possible to get it across.
The jerk I had problems with was an informant. And the deal made with him to inform was not exactly healthy for the West Jerusalem hostels.
I recently saw stats for Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel for 1991 and 1992.
So I can directly correlate them to the jerk’s value as an informant. He wasn’t so helpful in 1992, by the looks of it.
I got the floor wiped with me by that jerk for the first twelve months I had to put up with him. And still had to watch what he was doing to West Jerusalem’s hostels. And how he has two West Jerusalem pubs at each others throats.
Purim 1992, was the last moment the bones of my ass scraped the floor. Purim 1992 helped me get back up.
After that, I worked out how to turn my attitude around.
And figure Hashem knew a scrawny Aussie could manage the challenge.
Hamas jerks are beatable.
Eventually their false advantages disappear. And they start getting nervous the closer things get to “equal terms range.”
They have a psychological disadvantage when all their false advantages dry up.
What scares them the most?
Scrawny “wimps” who get back up off the floor and stare them down.
Take a real good look at Hamas over the past few months.
They are crumbling.
They are surrendering in droves.
Israel bounced back from that horrible day last year, got back up off the floor from the shock…and it is staring Hamas right in the eyeball.
Being nice to Hamas jerks only goes so far.
Then you have to be firm with them.
And remind them who has more character than they do.
I cannot even remotely think Hamas are nice at all.
I have my own memories of what a Hamas jerk did to me for twelve of eighteen months, over thirty years ago.
Oh, and I also had “friends” at the time who’d be more sympathetic to such a jerk.
It’s why I recognise the look in the eyes of the hostages who have been released.
Combined nasty treatment, then seeing the attitudes of uncaring other people…it leaves its mark in the eyes. I have a photo of the worst moment of my 1991-92 experience. I recognise in the released hostages the same look of shell-shock.
One cannot, even as non-Jew, be on the receiving end of even one Hamas jerk and not understand what Israel went through on Oct 7.
So I for a while will annoy a lot of people here in Australia by having to let experience inform me.
