Pain Week We'll end with this since the pain from 2011-current is so fresh in our minds. 1/23/2011 2010 AFC Championship Game After climbing back from a 24-0 deficit to pull within 24-19 the Jets needed one stop to have a chance to win but Pittsburgh took over with 3 minutes left and this Roethlisberger to Brown 3rd down conversion sealed the game and the franchise has never recovered. Pain Week 1/8/2005 2004 AFC Divisional playoffs The Jets had two chances to kick a FG and upset the 15-1 Steelers in Pittsburgh in the final minutes but, unfortunately, Doug Brien missed both kicks. One from 47 and the other from 43. Dick Enberg & Dan Dierdorf on the call for CBS #JetUp #Jetshistory #PainWeek

Pain Week 2003 After an incredible 2002 where he led the Jets to the AFC East title Chad Pennington fractured his wrist in a preseason game vs the Giants and missed the first 6 games of the year which pretty much killed the season. #JetUp #Jetshistory #PainWeek

Pain Week 1/17/1999 1998 AFC Championship Game After taking a 10-0 lead in the 3rd qtr it all began to unravel with the next play from scrimmage. Elway found McCaffrey for a 47 yd completion and 2 plays later it was 10-7. On the ensuing kickoff the Jets didn't catch the ball and Denver recovered and it was quickly tied at 10 before eventually losing 23-10. Pain Week 12/21/1997 Bill Parcells took over a team that was 1-15 a year earlier and had them 1 win away from the playoffs. Unfortunately he didn't trust his QB and it cost them. Up 10-6 in the 3rd STer and 3rd string QB Ray Lucas threw an int in FG range then in the 4th down 13-10 RB Leon Johnson threw an int in the EZ(though it was a blown call) and the Jets lost by 3. Pain Week 1994 Another collapse in Jets history. This time the Jets went from 6-5 battling for 1st place to 6-10 and the end of the one year Pete Carroll era. On 11/27/1994 The Jets led Miami 24-6 in the 3rd qtr with a chance to move into 1st place but 24-6 turned into 24-21 and a fake spike would end in a Dolphins TD and a 28-24 loss. Pain Week 1992 The Jets were coming off a playoff season and were expected to be a playoff team again. After a 5-0 preseason things were looking good but unfortunately those 5 wins were more than they would win in the regular season. As bad as the season was the worst part of the year was losing Dennis Byrd and Al Toon to career ending injuries and because of this I believe this is the worst season in Jets history. Al suffered a concussion at Denver and then 3 weeks later Dennis was partially paralyzed vs KC at the Meadowlands. #JetUp #Jetshistory #PainWeek

Pain Week 9/23/1991 With the Jets up 13-6 and trying to run out the clock for a huge road win on Monday Night Football Blair Thomas fumbles and the Bears recover leading to the game tying TD. In OT they had a great chance but Pat Leahy missed a chip shot 28 yd FG and the Bears would go on to score a TD and the keys lost 19-13. Pain Week 1/3/1987 1986 AFC Divisional playoffs With the Jets up 20-10 with about 3 1/2 minutes to play and the Browns about to be in a 3rd & 24 Mark Gastineau & Carl Howard hit Bernie Kosar late and gave them new life watch led to a TD then later tying it and sending the game to OT. In double OT Mark Moseley kicked a 27 yard FG to end one of the most painful losses in Jets history. Don Criqui & Bob Trumpy on the call for NBC #JetUp #Jetshistory #PainWeek
