Today we hosted author Kelly Starling Lyons at two @WCPSS schools - Wendell and Zebulon Elementary - to read her newest book "Showtime" and give away 200 copies to the terrific students. These WakeEd #PartnersRead program author visits promote literacy and a love of reading.

Our #PartnersRead program kicked off today for the spring! 1st graders across @WCPSS read a book with a volunteer every Friday morning & take that book home to build their homes libraries. Thank you ChildTrust and the Women’s Giving Network of Wake for supporting this program

Some of our wonderful @WCPSS #PartnersRead elementary schools kicked off their program this morning including @ScottsRidgeES. Each week hundreds of WakeEd volunteers go to 62 schools across Wake County every Friday AM to read with 1st graders and give them a new book to keep.
