✨ Happy National Cytology Day! ✨
National Cytology Day is observed each year on May 13 in honor of Dr. George Papanicolaou, widely known as the “Father of Cytology”, and the pioneer of the Pap test. This groundbreaking screening tool has played a crucial role in greatly reducing both the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer.
The day serves not only to recognize his lasting impact, but also to celebrate the important work of cytologists, cytopathologists, and the entire Cytology laboratory team in patient care. Thank you to our Cytology team for their invaluable contributions!
