The Khalsa Raj was never achieved so easily. The Khalsa established this empire by defeating warlike kaum the Durani Pathans. Abdali was also a Durrani Pathan, who defeated the Marathas, a rising power from India, in the Battle of Panipat so badly that they could not rise again. The Sikhs knew that if they wanted to rule this region, they would have to defeat the Pathans and close the Khyber Pass. This was not as easy as it seemed because this region was about 75-80% Muslim and about 15% Hindu, Sikhs were barely 5-7%. It showed the bravery of the Sikhs to rule this region with a small population. The Sikh state was not imposed on anyone, everyone was free to follow their own religion, there was no hatred in the name of religion.
