UNIVERSITY PAID LAWYERS *MORE* TO SUE THEIR STUDENTS//EMPLOYEES THAN TO JUST MEET THEIR FVCKING DEMANDS🤬🤬 #PayGradStudents #PayLivingWages #UMich
currently being spread by @geo3550 grad students -- these are real numbers. umich just paid its graduate instructors $100 for the entire month of april, while taking us to court TWICE for demanding a living wage in ann arbor. the lawyers they hired costed more than our demands.

I feel like I've been pretty successful in my graduate career, but imagine how much more I could have done (and how much physically/emotionally healthier I'd be) if I didn't ALSO bartend 3 days a week all through my MA and PHD to afford to live #paygradstudents

Just realized that, for most of my years in grad school, I qualified for food stamps in Massachusetts. So I wasn’t just being dramatic when stealing extra colloquium cheese to make up the day’s calories. #AcademicTwitter #AcademicChatter #GradStudentExploitation #PayGradStudents

UCSC students were gaslit about this So many times, were told their fears were just political performances to make the UCSC a villain. Looks to me like UCSC didn’t need any help with that. #paygradstudents #cola4all

I had a very similar experience. I was paid 13k, but fees & clause held tight. I was fortunate enough to make another 5k in the summer working in our grad college. But I’m unique in that experience. It also meant I wasn’t teaching. Grad school is hard enough. #PayGradStudents
