Every American should agree on one thing.
A President should never weaponize the Department of Justice against his political enemies.
So the reports that Trump’s DOJ is now investigating Gavin Newsom and his wife, over an issue no one will even name, are alarming to say the least.
Assuming there is nothing more to this story, and so far no one has offered a shred to suggest there is, we are left with something very ugly. And it’s easy to believe, given how often Trump has shown us this same pattern of retaliation, corruption, and going after anyone who crosses him.
You do not put your own personal criminal defense attorney in charge of the DOJ because you want everything done by the book. You do it to clear the path for exactly this kind of corrupt political hit.
So show us the evidence or drop the investigation.
Anything less tells us all we need to know.
