Tried my hand at Japanese Kumiko today at the Adirondack Folk School. This traditional pattern is called the Asanoha. Each piece is individually cut and beveled. Lots of geometry in this #mathart

One of my favorite activities is "Rings and Strings" from George Hart. So I picked up some bamboo rings from the dollar store, sawed some notches, and did a little yarn weaving. #playwithmath

Here's day 27 of my March #mathart challenge. We are currently playing with randomness in the Sim Center. 100 random points and plotted them in order in @Desmos. Easy to do, fun to play with! Can't decide which version I like best.

While walking the dog I had the idea for this modification of @anniek_p’s #mathartchallenge activity. Randomly generate zeros and ones and use them to determine which of the four knot tiles to put in the corresponding cell. Alternate joining the end along the outside. I 1/2
