अप्रेंटिसशिप (6-12 महीने की ट्रेनिंग) पूरी करने के बाद assistant lineman पद पर बिना परीक्षा के नियमित (regular) नौकरी।
पहले दी गई लिखित आश्वासनों को लागू करना।
प्रदर्शनकारियों ने PSPCL दफ्तर के दोनों गेट बंद कर दिए और सड़क भी जाम कर दी, जिससे कर्मचारियों का आवागमन रुक गया और ऑफिस का काम ठप हो गया।
स्थिति बिगड़ने पर ड्यूटी मजिस्ट्रेट (एक Powercom अधिकारी) ने पुलिस को लाठीचार्ज का आदेश दिया। पुलिस ने प्रदर्शनकारियों को तितर-बितर किया, कई लोगों को हिरासत में लिया। करीब 20 युवा घायल हुए।

They were simply sitting at the Powercom Head Office gates, demanding their rights. No violence. Just justice.

The lathi-charge carried out by the Bhagwant Mann government on 2,600 apprenticeship youth who were peacefully protesting outside the Powercom headquarters in Patiala for their legitimate demands is highly unfortunate and condemnable.
On one hand, the Aam Aadmi Party government is amending Punjab-oriented regulations to appoint individuals from outside the state to key positions. On the other hand, it is unwilling even to sit down and engage in dialogue with Punjab’s own youth regarding their concerns related to employment security and job opportunities.
In a democracy, raising one’s voice for legitimate demands is the fundamental right of every citizen. The genuine concerns of these young people should be addressed through dialogue and meaningful discussion, not through batons and repressive measures.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (Punarsurjit) strongly condemns this authoritarian action against Punjab’s youth and urges the government to immediately initiate talks with the representatives of the protesting youth and work towards a fair resolution of their issues.
