The Family: A Nurturing Environment for Excellence and Creative Minds The National Library and Archives invites the community to attend a virtual lecture titled “The Family and Nurturing Creativity”, featuring Dr Fatima Al Hammadi from the Family Development Foundation, Ms Afaf Al Menhali from the National Academy for Childhood Development and Mrs Iman Al Breiki from the NLA. The National Library and Archives Participates in the Beijing International Book Fair 2026 The National Library and Archives is pleased to announce its participation in the 32nd edition of the Beijing International Book Fair 2026, taking place from 17 to 21 June in Beijing, China. The participation is part of the UAE Pavilion, through Al Bait Al Emarati, which offers a cultural experience reflecting the diversity of the UAE’s cultural and creative landscape. The NLA will showcase its contributions to preserving the national memory and highlight key milestones in UAE–China bilateral relations. This participation reflects national efforts to strengthen the UAE’s cultural presence internationally and reinforce knowledge exchange with the People’s Republic of China. Rare Photographs Documenting Significant Milestones in the Nation’s Memory His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library, gifted the National Library and Archives a valuable collection of rare historical photographs dating back to 1967. Among them are photographs documenting the first visit of The Founding Father, The Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan after assuming the leadership of Abu Dhabi. The collection also includes photographs capturing prominent milestones and subjects in the history of the UAE, including scenes from Das Island. Address by HE Counsellor Khalid Al Raisi from the Ministry of Justice During the International Archives Week Events HE Counsellor Khalid Al Raisi explained that the Ministry of Justice’s experience in archiving records and files was the result of close collaboration between the Ministry of Justice and the National Library and Archives. This was achieved through a joint committee established in accordance with the Federal Archives Law of 2008, which enabled the transfer and organisation of records through structured procedures. He added that the project included the archiving of inactive files from courts and various departments.
