Grace Onyango, noted that the Board is currently transitioning all engineering programmes to align with Washington Accord standards as part of Kenya’s pursuit of full signatory status. She stated that EBK has been conducting regional Outcome-Based Education (OBE) training workshops for engineering lecturers and university staff whose programmes are accredited and recognized by the Board. These include the State Department of Roads, National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority, Total Energies, Kenya Urban Roads Authority, State Department for Housing and Urban Development, Kenya National Highways Authority, Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation, Kenya Airports Authority, State Department for Petroleum, and the County Government of Nakuru. Professional Development: The @EngineersBoard is currently conducting an agency-based training workshop for Graduate Engineers (GEs), focusing on the preparation of professional examination reports. This initiative aligns with the Board’s broader strategic vision of achieving 10,000 registered Professional Engineers by 2028. The workshop comes at a significant time as the board has recorded a milestone, having registered 502 new Professional Engineers in the 2024/25 financial year, the highest number ever recorded by the Board in a single year. Speaking at the opening, Registrar/CEO Eng. @Eng_MaggieOgai urged the participating Graduate Engineers to utilize the training as a platform to finalize and submit their reports.
