Record keeping is the systematic documentation of various aspects of farm operations. It can range from detailed information on crop production, livestock, finance, or other daily farm details. While the benefits are enormous, only a small percentage of smallholder farmers keep proper records. Hence the need to educate farmers in a way that changes their approach, allowing them to embrace record-keeping as a way of life. This allows them to not only plan better but make informed decisions, mitigating risk and losses and enjoying better returns! 🎦 Video taken during #ProjectGROW, an initiative organized by AFOS Foundation-Nigeria in partnership with the Cross River State Government. This training is being carried out by FutuX Agri-consult Limited as part of the #ProjectGROW initiative by AFOS Foundation Nigeria in partnership with the Cross River State Government. This summer SMU Simmons goes international! 🇮🇹 In June, Dr. Stephanie Al Otaiba traveled to the beautiful city of Florence, Italy to take part in the Kent State University International Summit on Learning and Behavioral Health bit.ly/3RZZ8fK Dr. Al Otaiba gave the presentation "Supporting Social and Emotional Learning through Dialogic Reading: Project GROW', a work that was co-authored by Dr. Kyle Roberts (Department of Teaching and Learning), and by Dr. Dayna Russell Freudenthal (Mt. Saint Joseph University and SMU PhD grad) and Dr. Mai Zaru (SMU PhD grad and current SMU post doc to Dr. Alexandra Pavlakis). Project GROW is an IES-funded design grant that is combining an evidence-based early literacy practice (dialogic reading) with principles for social and emotional learning. The program shows initial positive effects for “growing” young children’s social and emotional learning vocabulary.
