🌧️ Rain is Here - Let’s Drive Safely, Livermore 🌧️ With wet weather forecasted throughout the week, here are a few important reminders: 🚗 Turn Your Headlights On It’s the law to manually turn on your headlights during inclement weather and fog. Many newer vehicles automatically activate headlights in the dark but they may not turn on during rain or fog. If your windshield wipers are in continuous use, your headlights must be on. Headlights help other drivers see you and improve overall roadway visibility. 💧 Slow Down Wet roads reduce traction and increase stopping distances. Driving too fast for conditions can lead to hydroplaning. ⏰ Allow Extra Travel Time Plan ahead and give yourself additional time to reach your destination safely. You may encounter typical ponding on roadways during heavier rainfall. Let’s ride out the wet weather together and keep our community safe. #LivermorePD #ServiceWithHonor #ProtectionWithPurpose #DriveSafeLivermore
