Engagement with Morris Monye A Conversation Rooted in Purpose. A Fellowship Grounded in Respect. Earlier last month, I had the honour of receiving @Morris_Monye a fellow Deltan, Obidient patriot, and current Interim National Director of Mobilization and Strategy for the Obidient Movement at my residence in Abuja. Coincidentally, a group of 2023 Delta Labour Party candidates and early co-conveners of the Vision Better Delta Movement were also gathered that morning for a scheduled breakfast session. The timing offered a rare moment for mutual exchange. I introduced Morris to the team, and what followed was a warm, informal moment of connection — Deltans reflecting together, breaking bread, and reaffirming a shared belief: that leadership must be anchored in conviction, not convenience. After breakfast, Morris and I spent some time in deeper conversation — reflecting on lessons learned, the weight of public expectation, and the importance of building movements that can outlive electoral cycles. It was a meaningful dialogue, grounded in mutual respect. Before his departure, we took a group photograph. Not to mark an event — but to quietly honour a moment of alignment, accountability, and brotherhood. At this stage of the journey, I do not take such engagements for granted. We may come from different lanes, but we are rowing in the same direction toward a Delta, and a Nigeria, that works for the many, not the few. I am grateful for the clarity of the conversation. Grateful for the quiet strength of those still willing to build. And grateful for voices like Morris — steady, strategic, and sincere. We will continue to listen. We will continue to serve.
