God, I love a killer question. Gary has come up with a companion to the other killer question, "what is the principal criterion for qualifying as a soi disant transwoman" (Answer: being a man) & has produced a peach. He will receive no answers. Instead, will be howls & wails.
I would appreciate if an advocate of trans rights would answer a simple question: can a biological female--someone who was accurately identified as a member of the female sex class--be a trans woman, and, if so, under what circumstances can this occur? Thank you.

Quietly, the Egyptians are confident. They arrive in the U.S. having compiled one of the best records in qualifying, and Mohamed Salah has a point to prove. Yet history urges caution. Egypt’s record in World Cups is starkly bad when you consider they are the most successful country in the history of the AFCON, with seven titles. Having qualified for the first World Cup in 1930, Egypt did not arrive in Uruguay, the host country, after storm delays meant they missed their nautical connection in Marseille. Four years later in Italy, they became the first African or Arab nation to appear at the World Cup but failed to win a game, a record they maintained in 1990 and 2018. They have never advanced to the knockout stages. Is this their moment? 📝 @Simon_Hughes__ FREE TO READ 🔗 nyti.ms/4aLBAEw

I think you’ll find it’s only when they expanded the numbers that Scotland stopped qualifying

ᅠ I wasn't walking toward qualifying believing we'd suddenly challenge the front rows. I was walking toward qualifying knowing exactly what the task was. ᅠ

A FAN FAVOURITE Oscar Piastri looked strong in FP3 yesterday but could only manage the seventh-fastest time in qualifying ahead of today's race, which gets underway at 3pm local time. He arrived at the circuit this morning alongside his girlfriend Lily and took the time to stop and greet fans on his way to the McLaren hospitality suite, signing autographs and posing for photos. #mclaren #f1news #barcelonagp

We will all be supporting DR Congo at the 2026 World Cup. They did the world a big favour by stopping Nigeria from qualifying for the World Cup.

I’ve never seen Charles in this state after a qualifying session. I’m sure he’ll bounce back. I believe in him, these are the kinds of challenges that are part of a career, and he has to overcome them. Now, he needs support; mentally, it’s extremely difficult for him atm. Even Fred is saddened for Charles… Tu reviendra plus fort @Charles_leclerc ❤️ #F1 #BarcelonaGP 🇪🇸

Australia actually said not on our watch, the game was so open and interesting, fluidity at it's peak, Turkey had chances after chances but the Aussie's stood to their gameplan, baited and baited Turkey and boom sucker punched them when they least expected, Beach was a wall and easily the man of the match with 8 impressive saves!! Turkey will need to do extra if they want to have a chance of qualifying from the group

WORLD CUP DAY 4: 4 OFFICIAL ASIAN HANDICAP PICKS LIVE! 🚀 Yesterday took a hit from unexpected upsets, resetting our hot start. But market actuarials never panic. We rely on pure math and iron discipline, never changing our long-term proven strategy. Let's strike back tonight: Germany -3.5 (vs Cape Verde) The only question here: How many will Germany goal? After yesterday’s 4 consecutive underdog covers, the public will heavily chase the plus line. Even with the line slightly easing to -3.5, expect Germany to crush the spread. Netherlands -0.25 (vs Japan) The line opened at -0.5 and dropped to -0.25. Japan is naturally a massive public favorite here. This line movement creates an artificial reverse hype, highly similar to the Canada trap. Trust Netherlands to secure the win. Ivory Coast 0.25 (vs Ecuador) Ecuador enters with a 19-match unbeaten streak, scoring 5 goals in their last 2 matches. Facing a lower-ranked Ivory Coast, bookies only dare to open a weak -0.25 line. The bookmakers are heavily protecting the underdog spread. Back Ivory Coast. Sweden -0.5 (vs Tunisia) Qualifying forms show a massive gap between these two. If bookies were genuinely worried about Tunisia snatching points, the line would have dropped to -0.25. Instead, it holds firm at -0.5. Take Sweden to get the job done.

Lewis Hamilton took pole for Ferrari in a scorching Barcelona qualifying. Mercedes stayed right in the fight with Russell in P2 and Antonelli in P4 as tyre management in extreme heat becomes the big talking point heading into the race. 🏎️ #StayBeyond #F1 #BarcelonaGP

India were grouped alongside Burma, Indonesia and the Philippines in the qualifying. The rest of the teams withdrew (WW II had left many countries broken) and India qualified. Due to massive costs and India prioritising Olympics, they didn't play in the WC in '50. Even if those teams had participated in the qualifying, India would have likely come through; they were one of the best teams in Asia until 1962. In the 1948 Olympics, India had pushed France to the brink before losing 1-2. Under Rahim sir, they had Chuni, PK, Tulsidas, Neville, Venkatesh. They also won a couple of Asian Games Gold Medals. The famous one being in '62.
