📌 QUESTION OF THE WEEK — JUNE 8, 2026
❓ What Does Scripture Teach About Resentment and Bitterness?
Dwight (21) from Scottsdale, Arizona, asks a question that touches countless lives:
"I’m saved, but I struggle with resentment and bitterness almost daily. What does Scripture teach about these twin sins?"
Dwight, thank you for your honesty.
Bitterness often begins with real pain—betrayal, disappointment, rejection, broken relationships, or unmet expectations. Left unchecked, it becomes a prison that robs us of peace, joy, trust, and spiritual growth.
Scripture warns us not to allow a "root of bitterness" to grow because it eventually affects every area of life. What feels justified today can become a burden tomorrow.
For the Christian, victory is not found in willpower but in Christ. Romans 8:1-2 reminds us that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. The same faith that saves us is the faith that sustains us.
✝️ Jesus is the Source.
✝️ The Cross is the Means.
When we place our trust in what Christ accomplished at Calvary, the Holy Spirit empowers us to forgive, heal, and move forward.
Holding on to resentment prolongs the pain. Forgiveness releases it.
Today, let go of what is poisoning your heart and embrace the freedom Christ offers.
🙏 We're praying for you, Dwight—and for everyone struggling with bitterness today.
