Here's a nice example of computer scientists solving problems. Brought flipchart pens to a whiteboard situation @ the #RiMasterclasses, oops, unerasable.
*Fortunately* we have disinfectant wipes in the First Aid kit - whiteboard now sparkling, w no awkward Qns from colleagues :)

We were joined today by 3 other schools for another Royal Institute Mathematics Masterclass, led by our own Sixth Form students. Today the topic was on probability, the mini- mathematicians made their own dice from card.

This week's #RiMasterclasses in Computer Science for young people is brought to you by "hacking" the BBC News website (fortunately only on the client side [the user's computer)... they're also tinkering with JavaScript, making pop ups saying they've hacked each other ;)
ALT Using the developer tools on a web page (I'm on a Mac using Firefox so for me it's F12, then click on Inspector but there are other routes in) the young students are creating fake content on the BBC News website. Paulo the tutor created this one which shows text saying "This is going to be the bext class ever!" and a photograph of Ernie (left) and Bert from Sesame Street.
