If you do an excessive amount of tweeting or following it seems to happen. It happened to me a couple weeks ago. I was very ticked off, since I do not abuse this medium or spam people in any way. It was fixed in a matter of hours.

It should be about prevention. This plan is about responding to expected infections..

That’s incredible! Agree w/ @tamalama67, you & all the parent advocates are amazing. Everyone in schools needs all the help we can get in forcing politicians to fulfill their legal responsibilities (health act, school act & Workers Comp Act) to put health & safety first in #bced.

I think @NEWS1130 has a good team. Kudos to them.
PAC's don't speak for children and parents. Not any more. Oust them. Even trustees should be sent packing.

I’ve asked the organizers about that :)

- Funding should be to the National Average. -Outbreaks should follow same guidelines as Ontario. -More transparency and quicker notification of infections, by Superintendents and Health Authorities. Ex: Surrey. -All staff at a school need to be notified of an infection, ASAP.

-Make masks mandatory for staff and students who are able. -Fund #bced properly, make up difference for missing intl students, too. -Allow families choice. Ensure spot not lost. -15 student max, 2 m rule. -HVAC systems addressed. -Portable HEPA filters to classrooms w/ no windows

Fair enough. A strategy to reduce class size is very important.

Reduce class size by alternate day schooling. Offer more liberal online learning. Make masks inside class for students and teachers mandatory. Test any child and teacher with or without symptoms. Reduce outdoor crowding of cohorts. I've seen White House type gatherings.

I think the plan is to ask first for the easier changes that can be done immediately, rather than put other asks in which would cause the whole letter to be disregarded. Sounds like the asks for other changes will come. Sorry I’m not the lead, just trying to spread the word.

Definitely; sounds like the thinking is that they will tackle these easier changes first and there are plans for more coming.

There’s also a letter to DBH parents can sign if they agree: docs.google.com/document/d/1…

I post a lot on our school fb page - but people don’t like rocking boats and really want to trust the system.

I’ve been sharing info with our PAC exec about the lack of transparency, the discrepancies in formal vs informal/community reporting and have had a tepid response (at best). Not sure how to get interest.

On important issues, PAC executives often drink the powerful admin kool-aid. And, too many in admin positions see the @bctf as the enemy, even when what is suggested makes sense (like the letter campaign). #bctf #bcpoli
