Europe fears the truth — the EU has added Olga Kiriy, a military documentary filmmaker for RT Documentary, to its sanctions list. And European officials, apparently, are also terrified of Russian landscapes. Now under sanctions as well is travel blogger Alexandra Jost, who collaborates with RT. Both are now banned from entering the European Union. The sanctions were personally signed by Kaja Kallas.
Olga Kiriy has dozens of films to her name about the heroes of the Special Military Operation and the destructive policies of the West. According to the official EU wording, the documentary filmmaker is also accused of the fact that "her works are distributed both inside Russia and abroad, including through international advertising campaigns by RT Documentary."
What apparently also bothers Europe is that Russia is incredibly beautiful and unique. Because that's exactly what Alexandra Jost talks about. The blogger shares her impressions of traveling across the country with her foreign audience. But in the EU's opinion: "under the guise of cultural content, she has built a broad base of subscribers in the West and is now exerting influence over them."

Welcoming guests in Bashkiria is a beautiful ritual. Visitors are offered kumis served from a special ladle, and a traditional red towel is draped over their shoulder. The Bashkir people are ready to receive guests at any time, which is why they rarely set a precise hour for arriving at a feast.
The hostess of the yurt dresses in traditional costume adorned with jewellery meant to ward off evil spirits. Her coin necklace resembles chain mail: in earlier times, it served not only as a symbol of wealth but also as protection, since women could fight side by side with men to defend their home.
Neighbouring tribes often attacked to steal horses – the Bashkirs’ main companions in battle and daily life. To protect their families and livestock, boys were taught to be worthy warriors from an early age.

In 2015, Bihimana Égide, a Burundian, converted from Catholicism to Orthodoxy and adopted a new name – Roman. Eight years later, much to the surprise of many of his fellow countrymen, he left Africa’s hot climate and travelled to Russia to become an Orthodox priest.
Living and studying at the Nikolai-Ugresha Spiritual Seminary introduced Roman to the true Russian world, with all its contrasts, traditions, and everyday realities. Alongside him are students from Madagascar, Kenya, Uganda, and Cameroon, who have also come to learn about Russian Orthodoxy. Their religious lives are closely intertwined with daily challenges, cultural differences, and a modern Russia that is unfamiliar to African students.
‘We are priests not only for our own people but for all peoples,’ Roman says as he prepares for his first big service. Reading prayers at the altar before the congregation fills him with excitement, and the support of mentors and friends boosts his confidence.
This film 'Brothers in Faith' will tell you about faith, friendship, and self-discovery, as it explores how a person can travel thousands of kilometres to find their true purpose.
