Aeronave não tripulada RQ-4D Phoenix, MM AV-SA-0014, da Força NATO de Informações, Vigilância e Reconhecimento ("NATO Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Force", NISRF) a aterrar, a 21 de Maio de 2026, na Base Aérea de Ørland (ICAO ENOL), na costa central da Noruega. Operando a partir da Base de Sigonella (ICAO LICZ), na costa Leste da Sicília, em Itália, esta é a primeira visita de uma destas aeronaves à Noruega, inserindo-se no modelo de operação de Emprego Ágil de Combate ("Agile Combat Employment", ACE).
O Northrop Grumman RQ-4D "Phoenix", uma variante altamente customizada do RQ-4 "Global Hawk" (Block 40) em uso pela Força Aérea dos Estados Unidos, é um drone de grande altitude e longa "endurance" dedicado às missões de recolha de Informações, Vigilância e Reconhecimento. Tem um comprimento de 14,5 metros, uma envergadura de asa de 39,9 metros, uma massa de 6,8 toneladas em vazio, podendo transportar 7,8 toneladas de "fuel" e 1,3 toneladas de "payload", sustentando uma velocidade de 575 km/h. É operado remotamente por um piloto e um operador de sensores. Está equipado com "Multi-Platform Radar Technology Insertion Program" (MP-RTIP) com "Synthetic Aperture Radar" (SAR). A NISRF conta com um inventário de cinco unidades. A aquisição das mesmas no contexto da NATO "Alliance Ground Surveillance" (AGS) foi contratada a 20 de Maio de 2012, por um valor de 1,2 mil milhões de EUR (valor médio unitário de 240 milhões de EUR), tendo a primeira unidade sido entregue a 21 de Novembro de 2019 e a última a 12 de Novembro de 2020.
A NISRF é actualmente comandada, desde 16 de Junho de 2025, pelo (OF-6) Brigadeiro-General John B. Creel, da Força Aérea dos Estados Unidos, cuja experiência inclui as operações "Desert Shield", "Desert Storm", "Joint Endeavor", "Joint Guard", "Northern Watch", "Enduring Freedom" e "Iraqi Freedom".
