Exciting news! 🎉 Our work on accelerating cardiac digital twin simulations is featured in an AIP Scilight highlight. Led by Nusrat Sadia Khan, the team showed that coronary models can reach hemodynamic convergence in just 1–2 heartbeats which can dramatically reduce the cost of individual hemodynamic units which is critical in use of tools like the Longitudinal Hemodynamic Mapping Framework. 🔗 aip.org/scilights/taking-the… 📄 Khan, N. Excited to share our latest work led by former Randles Lab postdoc Dr. Arash Ghorbannia — a simulation-based ML framework for predicting iFR and FFR in coronary bifurcation lesions using only pre-op anatomical features. Bifurcation lesions are notoriously difficult to assess, especially in the side-branch during provisional stenting. This approach combines high-fidelity CFD (via HARVEY) with ML and mixed-effects modeling to account for anatomical variability. ⚙️ Results: – 252 simulated lesions – AUC of 0.899 (FFR) and 0.874 (iFR) – No wires. No invasive probes. Just anatomy → insight.
