To your last statement, the way I see it is that it’s not necessarily important *what* the system is, what’s in important is *why* people like or dislike a system.
Every single person I’ve seen defend rarities has said they like them because it “adds to the progression of the game”, but realistically, we don’t need rarities to achieve that. There’s plenty of map-unique systems they could implement that keeps progression lasting long.
For armor, I’d love for shields to return. But I also wouldn’t be against armor being turned into a perk, and not having to replate, but instead, an armor meter just recharges as you get kills or something (with that perk)
Salvage has no need to exist if you remove rarities. Equipment, Scorestreaks, and Ammo Mods should be earnable through other means. Either through map-unique side quests or just with points. I would love to see some map-unique secondary currencies though, Spaceland did that with tickets.
The point system should be closer to the classic system, but I wouldn’t mind some modifications to balance it a bit better. Maybe give a point bonus for one-shot kills. Maybe a cap on how many you can farm from individual zombies in later rounds. I’m open to all kinds of changes, as long as the base system is the classic system.
