My 116th book review: 'Stories of Your Life and Others', by @Tedchiang It's been a while since I last read a collection of short stories, and this one truly delivered. I initially discovered this collection because I wanted to read the original story behind the movie Arrival; however, every story in it turned out to be worthwhile. Although some individual stories definitely earned a five-star rating from me, I'd give the entire collection four stars. Ted Chiang is an exceptional writer. He covers an impressive breadth and variety of topics, offering thoughtful depth that's hard to find elsewhere. I particularly appreciated the philosophical themes woven throughout these stories, especially with regard to how people react and adapt when confronted with novel and rapidly changing circumstances. This collection is essential reading for anyone who considers themselves philosophically inclined; even those who don't typically lean towards philosophical reading will find plenty to enjoy here. At times, I encountered individual scenes that didn't immediately resonate, yet even these moments often served as a mirror, compelling me to reflect inwardly. Every piece felt carefully considered and meticulously crafted. Reading this collection has made me eager to explore more of Chiang's writing. I already own his other collection, "Exhalation," though I'm only about 10% of the way through. I'm now even more excited to continue reading and see where it goes. My 114th book review: 'Build: An Unorthodox Guide to Making Things Worth Making' by @tfadell This book is perfect for generalists, creators, and the deeply curious. Tony Fadell covers a vast range of topics, each explored with depth and charm. While I couldn’t follow every line of thought, I always sensed the sincerity and care he poured into each page. The book’s progression—from personal development to career, product creation, business building, team management, and eventually the role of CEO—feels like an insightful roadmap. It may not be a path for everyone, but it’s a journey full of valuable insights. Some of the key themes I loved include the emphasis on solving real problems, being an effective leader, and fostering a positive company culture. Fadell’s background as an engineer shines through, but he offers wisdom that extends far beyond technical skills, sharing as much of his experience as he can to help readers grow. #ReadREFLECT on 'You Belong Here' a thought provoking & insightful book TY @kimdabbs 💐 I have reframed my perspective on belonging with it starting with the individual - based on our own terms not that defined by others. Lots to aid reflection and a framework for guidance.

Really fascinating review by Sumaya Kassim. While Zia Rahman's book might be guilty of one dimensional representations, there is a wider problem of the depiction of women. #ReadReflect
