There’s a quote that says: “If your peace depends on everything going right, that’s not peace, that’s control.
Learning to be steady in uncertainty that’s real growth.”
For me, I’m still learning but I’m learning that peace isn’t proven when life is easy. Anybody can feel calm when the bills are paid, relationships are healthy, plans are working out, and the future makes sense. The real test of peace is what happens when life gets unpredictable.
A lot of us think we’re chasing peace, but what we’re really chasing is control. We want every outcome secured, every prayer answered immediately, every situation to make sense ect…And when one thing falls apart, our entire emotional world falls apart with it. Why? Because our stability was tied to circumstances instead of something deeper.
I think real peace is being able to breathe even when you don’t have all the answers. It’s trusting God while the outcome is still uncertain. It’s understanding that uncertainty is part of life, not proof that life is falling apart. And I think growth happens when you stop needing certainty to feel okay. When you stop panicking every time life shifts. When disappointment no longer destroys you. When delays don’t automatically make you think denial.
What I’m trying to say is, maturity isn’t becoming someone who never struggles. It’s becoming someone who can walk through struggle without losing themselves. Because at the end of the day anybody can hold it together when life is predictable. But learning to carry peace into uncomfortable seasons? That’s strength. That’s faith. That’s growth. 💯
