You could say this about the EPA.
Texas, as we all know, is a Red state. There has been a heavy inflow of new residents from other states in recentyears. Add to that the heavy influx of illegal migration along the Texas/Mexico border. We're talking about 10's of thousands, if not 100's of thousands of people annually. Where there's people, people need to drink water.
The Rio Grande River is a huge source of fresh water for the residents of Texas. Especially along the Texas side of the Rio Grande.
Mexico has not kept up their agreements on how much water they contribute to the Rio Grande River annually.
NEW Mexico has not kept up with their agreements on water contributions to the Rio Grande River either.
Texas and New Mexico had however worked out an amicable solution between their states concerning New Mexico's short comings on the issue. Now in steps the EPA, a Blue organization, and said, no, to that agreement. All because Texas and New Mexico didn't say , "Mother (EPA), may I?" They didn't kiss the EPA's a... ring so to speak. So now Texas and New Mexico have to jump through more EPA regulations just so people can get a glass of water to drink.
The EPA has grown beyond its original charter of protecting the environment to become aburdensome regulationory agency that impedes population growth. Or at least is grossly and, in my opinion, unethical in their approach to ever changing water needs of the population. Where ever that population may be presently located.
The EPA should be reduced to an "advisory" level agency to the POTUS at most and leave the water issues up to the various states to work out there differences.
Just my two bits worth on the topic.
