Not all NIRA services are free of charge. Collection of a National ID card is free. First time registration for a National ID is also free. However, some other services attract statutory fees. To know which services are paid for and the official charges, please check the NIRA legal fees structure here: nira.go.ug/fees. All official payments must be made through the bank or official payment channels, not cash payments to individuals. If anyone asks you for cash to process or issue a National ID or any related service outside the official procedures, please report corruption through the official channels below: • Email: reportcorruption@nira.go.ug • Toll Free: 0800211700 . Any @PoliceUg post nearest to you or through the ISO structures The problem is people see queues and suddenly become “agents of emergency” :/ Please use official channels and avoid shortcuts that bring problems later.
