#FACTS... Next Year Is Not Going To Be Pretty For Republicans.... RAW STORY: Republicans are desperately trying to avoid calling legally required special elections because they know they would be referendums on Trump, and they fear humiliating losses... #LOL...But the courts are telling them they have to.... MAGA: Governor hit with stinging ruling over bid to hold seat empty for 8 months Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-AR) got a smackdown from an Arkansas state judge over her plan to hold open a vacant state legislative seat for eight months before holding a special election. Sanders set the special election date to replace Republican state Sen. Gary Stubblefield to June of next year — well past the state law requirement to call it within 150 days of the vacancy.... rawstory.com/sarah-huckabee-… #Republicans, #SpecialElections, #TrumpReferendum, #HumiliatingLosses, #Courts, #MAGA, #SarahHuckabeeSanders, #Arkansas, #StateJudge, #VacantSeat, #SpecialElection, #GaryStubblefield, #StateLaw, #Politics, #GOP, #ElectionDelay, #CourtRuling, #PoliticalStrategy, #Trump, #ArkansasPolitics, #RepublicanParty, #ElectionLaws, #JudicialSmackdown, #PoliticalNews, #StateSenate, #Governance, #LegalRuling, #ElectionTiming, #PoliticalTactics, #MagaMovement, #ConservativePolitics, #CourtDecision, #ElectionRules, #PoliticalGames, #ArkansasNews, #StateLegislature, #RepublicanStrategy, #TrumpInfluence, #SpecialElectionDelay, #JudicialOrder, #PoliticalAccountability, #GOPLosses, #ElectionIntegrity, #StatePolitics, #MagaSupporters, #PoliticalConsequences, #ArkansasGovernor, #TrumpEffect

The real reason Democrats are suddenly so concerned about Republican gerrymandering Let me explain the real reason Democrats are suddenly so concerned about Republican gerrymandering – and it's not because they've developed a newfound moral compass about fair elections. The Historical Origins of Gerrymandering Gerrymandering has been a bipartisan American tradition since 1812, when Massachusetts Governor Elbridge Gerry signed redistricting legislation that created a district so bizarrely shaped it resembled a salamander. The word "gerrymander" was coined on March 26, 1812, in the Boston Gazette in reaction to Massachusetts state senate districts drawn under Gov. Elbridge Gerry, though Gerry himself was reportedly reluctant to sign the bill.¹ For over two centuries, both parties have enthusiastically embraced this practice whenever they held power. The difference? Democrats have already maximized their gerrymandering potential. The Democratic Gerrymandering Reality Let's examine the facts about who's really been gaming the system: Illinois: Currently, just 3 of Illinois' 17 congressional districts are represented by Republicans, despite Donald Trump winning 44% of the state's 2024 vote. Democrats control 14 of the state's 17 congressional seats.² This is what Illinois Governor JB Pritzker defends as "fair representation" while criticizing Texas Republicans. Maryland: Democrats have gerrymandered the state to control seven of the state's eight districts, with a Maryland judge having thrown out a Democrat-backed congressional map in 2021 that would have threatened the state's lone Republican lawmaker.³ New Jersey: After New Jersey's politically appointed redistricting commission deadlocked, the unaffiliated tiebreaker selected a Democratic map under which 10 of 12 districts were carried by Joe Biden in 2020.⁴ The pattern is clear: In almost all the states where Democrats controlled the redistricting process, they already held all or nearly all the seats, leaving them few options to increase advantages through gerrymandering.⁵ Republican Strategic Awakening Here's where it gets interesting. For decades, Republicans played gentleman's politics while Democrats systematically maximized their advantages. Then came 2010 and REDMAP (Redistricting Majority Project). Republicans developed a $30 million strategy, centered around winning state legislative chambers in swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, North Carolina, and Florida. By winning 117 state legislative races in 2010, they were able to control redistricting for 210 House districts, compared to just 44 districts for Democrats.⁶ The results were dramatic: In 2012, Republicans maintained a 33-seat majority in the House, even though GOP candidates as a group got 1.4 million fewer votes than their Democratic opponents.⁷ Here is a part that people are missing: The Census Problem The problem with using the census for creating voting districts is that the census includes EVERYONE, including illegal immigrants. By flooding states with illegal immigrants, the left can affect the electoral college and the House of Representatives. This creates a massive constitutional distortion where non-citizens are counted for representation purposes, giving states with large illegal immigrant populations additional congressional seats and electoral votes. States like California, New York, and Illinois benefit from millions of non-citizens being counted in their population totals, which translates directly into more political power in Congress and presidential elections. The founders never intended for foreign nationals unlawfully present in the country to influence American representation. This census manipulation represents a fundamental subversion of democratic representation – states get more power not because they have more citizens, but because they harbor more people who broke immigration law to get here. The Real Democratic Panic Now Republicans are embracing the Democrats' own playbook, and suddenly gerrymandering is a "threat to democracy." Why the panic? Democrats Have Already Maxed Out: They've gerrymandered every blue state to the absolute limit of possibility. Illinois, Maryland, California, and New Jersey are drawn as favorably as mathematically possible for Democrats. Republicans Have More Room to Grow: Republicans now control redistricting in more states than Democrats and have significant gerrymandering advantages in 11 states, mostly in the South and Midwest.⁸ States like Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, and Florida still have potential for additional Republican seats. The Math Favors Republicans: Nationally, extreme partisan bias in congressional maps gave Republicans a net 16 to 17 seat advantage for most of last decade.⁹ The Hypocrisy is Stunning Consider this timeline: Democrats gerrymander aggressively for decades ✓ Republicans finally learn the game and play it better ✗ "THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!" California's Gavin Newsom threatens mid-decade redistricting ✓ "Fighting back!" Texas Republicans pursue mid-decade redistricting ✗ "Unprecedented attack!" California Governor Gavin Newsom has urged lawmakers to draw a new map that could flip five of Republicans' nine seats in the state if voters approve it, but only if Texas completes its redistricting effort first.¹⁰ The Constitutional Reality Let me remind everyone: The Supreme Court ruled in 2019 in Rucho v. Common Cause that partisan gerrymandering claims are political questions beyond the power of federal courts to resolve and can only be addressed through state or federal legislation.¹¹ Gerrymandering is legal. Both parties do it. The only difference is Republicans are now better at it than Democrats, who spent decades perfecting the practice. The Bottom Line Democrats don't oppose gerrymandering because it's unfair – they oppose it because they've already played all their cards and Republicans are just getting started. They're not defending democracy; they're defending their maximized advantages from being overcome by Republican strategic competence. If Democrats truly cared about fair elections, they would have supported anti-gerrymandering measures when they controlled the process. Instead, they drew the most partisan maps possible and called it "representation." Now that Republicans have learned to play the game Democrats perfected, suddenly redistricting is a crisis. This isn't about principles – it's about power, and Democrats are losing the game they taught Republicans how to play. The real scandal isn't gerrymandering – it's using illegal immigration to manipulate the census and steal congressional seats from law-abiding American citizens. #GerrymanderTruth #PoliticalHypocrisy #RedistrictingFacts #DemocraticHypocrisy #RepublicanStrategy #ElectionIntegrity #REDMAP #PartisanMaps #ConstitutionalReality #DemocratsMadeTheRules #CensusManipulation #IllegalImmigrationImpact Citations: The Smithsonian Magazine, "Where Did the Term 'Gerrymander' Come From?" Watch the full breakdown & find out why this shift is critical. ⬇️ To win, Trump MUST refocus on the non-college educated white voters in the Rust Belt who made MAGA a success in 2016. Abandoning White voters for Hispanic voters will force damaging compromises on immigration—something Rust Belt conservatives won’t stand for.
