What a night of boxing! Conor Benn delivered a brilliant performance from start to finish. He stayed composed, stuck to his game plan and showed real discipline throughout the fight. Every round he applied smart pressure, picked clean shots and didn’t allow Chris Eubank Jr to settle into any kind of rhythm. Conor absolutely deserved that win and fair play to him. On the other side it was a very poor showing from Chris Eubank Jr. He never looked comfortable, struggled to find timing and wasn’t able to impose his usual style. Whether it was the pace, the strategy or simply an off night he just didn’t perform at the level expected. In a fight of this magnitude those lapses cost you and tonight they certainly did. To put it in numbers the fight went the full 12 rounds and the official judges scorecards read 116 112, 116 112 and 116 112 in favour of Eubank Jr. Despite the scoreline when you watch the fight closely you can see why many felt Conor Benn did everything right while Eubank Jr was far from his best. A huge moment for Benn. And credit to them both for the respect shown at the final bell. It was genuinely nice to see Conor and Chris hug it out at the end.
