When it comes to her favorite stop along the route, Ericka says choosing is hard, but Cadillac Center Station is the one. It’s truly central: steps from Woodward and Campus Martius Park, across from Hudson’s Detroit, and a short stroll to Library Street, The Belt, and Broadway. And inside the station, Detroit’s story shines, through a permanent Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) installation, towering Pewabic tiles that glitter, and nods to the historic Stroh Brewery on the walls. She also leads group and school tours of Art in the Stations (March–October) proof that the People Mover is more than transportation; it’s a moving gallery and a connection point for the city. And if she could ride with anyone? With 20 years of experience in public transit and senior-level expertise in community and public relations, Ericka helps shape how Detroit connects to Downtown, keeping riders informed, sharing the People Mover’s ongoing history, creating opportunities, and ensuring DPM remains part of the city’s everyday story. Ericka brings a full-spectrum approach to public-facing work that the community can see and take part in: programs and services, strategic planning, and special event logistics. She’s known for turning big-picture goals into clear messages, strong campaigns, and polished materials that reach broad audiences, local groups, and niche communities—always focused on positive outcomes. In Detroit, she’s also widely recognized as “the one who knows what’s happening”—the behind-the-scenes connector who links the People Mover to major events, community moments, and the businesses and organizations that help Downtown thrive. Twelve stations will be open for your trip downtown (Times Square remains closed for platform resurfacing). The recent track switch replacement was completed two days ahead of schedule, so you can ride seamlessly to tonight’s festivities. 🎄 Heading to the Tree Lighting?
