Earlier this year I joined the Walk for Autism and raised nearly $650 for Aspect, one of Australia’s largest autism-specific service providers.

This October, I’m taking part in the Run for Autism to raise even more. Because of knee injuries I’ll be walking my 70km — but I’ll be there every step of the way!
My motivation is close to home.
💜 My youngest son (19) was diagnosed with autism last year. We’ve been busy setting up his NDIS supports and I’m already seeing positive changes — just yesterday he asked me to take him to the licensing centre to reactivate his learner’s permit so he can get himself to appointments and, hopefully, work.
💜 My eldest son (30 next year) was diagnosed at 23. His journey looks different but he too is engaging with supports like guitar lessons, OT, and therapy.
On a personal note, I also suspect I’m on the spectrum. While I can’t pursue an assessment right now, learning more has helped me understand my life experiences and embrace strategies that work for me.
I’ll be sharing my walking progress daily and would be so honoured if you supported my fundraising efforts. Even a small donation helps Aspect continue their vital work in services and research that change lives in Australia and around the world.
