Counting down: 18 days until Spring Boot 3.5 EOL. ⏲ This is the dangerous kind — no compile error, no warning. Can you catch it: True or false: In Jackson 3.0, JacksonException no longer extends IOException — it's now a RuntimeException. #SpringBoot #Java #SoftwareEngineering

The Exception("from finally") will be thrown. The finally block overrides the RuntimeException from try.

finally block takes precedence so Exception(“from finally”) comes and RuntimeException is suppressed.

RuntimeException is the base. Use Try…Catch for specific types like KeyNotFoundException or NilObjectException. Pragma BreakOnExceptions Off skips the debugger for known cases. App.UnhandledException catches the rest. documentation.xojo.com/getti… #Xojo #TryCatch #RuntimeException

Thrown exception: Exception("from finally") The exception from finally overrides/suppresses the original: RuntimeException("fail") So the original exception is lost unless explicitly handled

Oh, they weren’t logging the exception itself, don’t worry. They logged “JSON syntax error ${e}”. In a catch block that caught a generic Exception. While not passing the exception to the log.error. So, only the exception message was logged. Then wanted to throw a RuntimeException

The RuntimeException("fail") from try never gets a chance to shine because the finally block throws Exception("from finally") and steals the spotlight. Result: Exception: from finally

The 'from finally' overrides the earlier RuntimeException because it will run last.
