Itโ€™s been a terrific week of Europeans experiencing and opining on all the great things in America. Iโ€™ve been talking up hot American breakfast and black coffee for a while. But this gentleman absolutely nails why weโ€™re doing temperature right

Both systems have inherent value in different settings. Those that adamantly abhor one or the other for its proper setting is simply low IQ, & unable to adapt. We don't use C or F for a kiln, but K makes sense. F makes sense for people who aren't currently in a lab.

Another genius who uses integer numbers only.

I will give you $100 if you can tell the difference in temperature of 1F just by feel, without any measurements.

It's less the scale or accuracy; it's the Relative Ranges. F works, for human experience, extremely well for telling you the clothing options. a 60 degree day is different than a 70 degree day. And the switch in the 10s column gives the mental hook.

The real power is the 10s. 30-40-50-60-70-80-90-100 all require different clothing choices. Because the hinge point of air temperature around 70F for natural skin temperature.

Your water boils at 100C, what are you talking about? Your milk at Starbucks is heated to 70C. So yeah, the scale is used on a daily basis, unless you think temperature only exists in the outside air and nowhere else

I think the biggest benefit to Fahrenheit is that each degree is about half as small as a Celsius degree. There is a lot more gradation in the F system, and the difference between 70 and 71 we can directly feel. While in C you would call them both 21.

But Fahrenheit is wrong. Literally. It's based on human body temperature, but was benchmarked by a bloke with a fever. ๐Ÿคฃ

You know what the difference between 0F and 30F is? Nothing, you need the same coat. Change that to C and you go from needing a thick coat to wearing shorts. Itโ€™s a terrible system with little nuance and youโ€™re a dumb ass
