Muslim Hands is an international non-governmental organization. Since its establishment in 1993, Muslim Hands has been operating in over 50 countries worldwide.
In 2014, Muslim Hands launched project Maidaan in Pakistan, a flagship sports-for-development initiative aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Maidaan engages hundreds of street-connected children across Pakistan, providing them with structured opportunities through sports along with access to education, healthcare, psychosocial support, and financial assistance. Through football and cricket academies, these children are empowered with identity, confidence, and hope for a better future.
Our teams have proudly represented Pakistan at international platforms, including Gothia Cup China, X1 Nation Tournament Russia, and multiple editions of the Street Child Football World Cup (SCWC) in Brazil, Russia, and Qatar. Most recently, Pakistan secured runner-up positions at the Norway Cup 2023 and 2024, further strengthening its reputation on the global stage.
We are now participating in the Street Child Football World Cup 2026, in Mexico City. This landmark event, held just weeks before the FIFA World Cup, brings together teams from over 21 countries. More than a football tournament, SCWC is a global movement advocating for the rights, protection, and identity of street-connected children.
Following our historic silver-medal finish at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and 2018 in Russia, Team Pakistan is once again competing and representing the nation. Beyond the field, our players will raise their voices for critical issues such as access to education, protection from violence, and legal identity. They are not just athletes—they are ambassadors of resilience, determination, and change, carrying the powerful message: “I AM SOMEBODY.”
