Using the new YES job board, young people, parents, and educators can find job postings from employers looking to hire resources and helpful tips. We believe this initiative can also help address the challenges businesses are facing with open positions — so we encourage businesses across the state to submit job openings you’re hoping to fill! Building career pathways is essential to the success of our SC students and industry. I enjoyed touring PALM Charter High School yesterday — the only motorsports high school in the nation! The principal is a true advocate for getting students engaged and prepared with real skills — offering kids ages 4-12 opportunities through summer camps. The business community is also invested, including @Boeing and Lazarus Entertainment Group, who come alongside school programs to get students #SCWorkforce ready when they graduate. Another example of SC’s innovation in education. #AimHigherSC

Yesterday @SCManufacturers hosted SC Manufacturing Day at the State House! Congrats to @LockheedMartin for being recognized as making the coolest thing by SCMA and celebrating 50 years of building the F-16 — the flight simulator was amazing. Truly enjoyed joining leaders from @SCDEWinfo and the @SCTechSystem for an interactive tour of the @VolvoCarUSA plant in Ridgeville where they are shifting gears to go fully electric by 2030. Volvo is partnering with readySC, launching a new training facility, and actively recruiting high school seniors for these jobs. They are also working to add 1500 new employees to help build these new electric SUVs. #SCWorkforce #AimHigherSC
