After a week of graduation trips, road runs to Pensacola, helping with all the end-of-year kid stuff, and now jumping back into real work… I’m feeling the weight this morning. This verse hit me hard: Matthew 1: 28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Real rest isn’t always doing nothing. Endless end-of-year forms, sign-ups & “one more thing” emails → because it means my kids are finishing strong and stepping into their next chapter 2. Kids fighting over the last blue Gatorade like it’s the apocalypse → because it means they’re home, loud, and still love each other enough to fight over the little things 3. Took an extra day off work… now I only have 2 real workdays this week → because it means I get to be fully present for my family exactly when they need me 4. Body aches from chasing kids carrying everyone’s stuff → because it means I’m strong enough to show up and carry the load for the people I love 5. Forgetting why I walked into the room… every single time → because it means my life is so full of purpose and people that my mind is constantly overflowing 6. Laundry that magically multiplies overnight → because it means we played hard, lived fully, and created memories in every single load 7.
