Today on Scott Adams School they started off with a classic Scott Adams micro lesson on how and why to argue using identity instead of reason.
The following is my own spin on why reason does not work. We all live in our own imagined reality based on our own individual perspective reality. Two separate people can see what appears to be the same thing, but imagine their own reasons what they just saw.
Scott Adams deals with the fact you cannot reason with somebody that imagines they saw something different. However, you can persuade them to imagine more ways what they saw by messing with their identity filters.
My opinion is Scott Adams persuasion method works to fool somebody to swape one imagined reality for another imagined reality by adding more identity filters.
I myself, prefer a Charlie Kirk like facts based arguing. Instead of adding identity filters to change an imagined reality, get the person to explain their own reasons and add facts to help them perceive a different reality.
